A front-of-house screen for your orders, without ever showing a name

Published on June 8, 2026

You know the scene: the counter is busy, someone asks "is Martin's ready?", the kitchen shouts a number, and three customers stand up at once. There's a better way.

ZipZest now offers an order status screen built for your dining room. Plug in a TV or a tablet, open the screen, and your guests can see at a glance where their order stands: being prepared, ready, or out for delivery. The moment an order switches to "Ready", it lights up green and a chime plays. No shouting, no checking your phone every thirty seconds.

Anonymous by default

Here's the important part: only the order number is displayed. No name, no phone number, no personal information of any kind. Your guests keep their privacy, and you stay on the right side of data protection, which matters in Switzerland.

Every customer knows their number from their order confirmation. They glance up, spot it, and come collect their meal when the card turns green. Simple.

A screen that adapts to your service

From the settings, you decide what shows up. Pickup orders only, or deliveries too? The "In preparation" column visible, or just the orders that are ready? An "Out for delivery" column if your couriers watch the same screen? Everything takes two clicks to configure, with an adjustable refresh interval and a fullscreen mode for your TV.

The screen works just as well for click & collect as for on-site pickup or keeping an eye on deliveries. Every restaurant uses it differently: some face it towards customers by the counter, others put it kitchen-side for the couriers.

The feature is live now for every restaurant on zipzest.ch. One TV, one browser, and your dining room instantly gets calmer.
